Monitoring and Education Specialist
Andy joined the International Water Institute in 2014 as a
Monitoring and Education Specialist. He works on a number of projects,
including: the Watershed Pollutant Load Monitoring Network, River Watch, River
Explorers, and leads the River of Dreams program. He contributes to writing
newsletters, maintaining the website, and updating our social media accounts.
Prior to joining the IWI, Andy received his BA in Geography
from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and is nearing completion of his
MS in Land Resources and Environmental Sciences from Montana State University.
He spent time as a GIS Technician in 2012 with the International Water Institute,
University of Minnesota Extension, and White Earth Tribal and Community
College. In 2013 he completed a year of service with the Conservation Corps of
Minnesota and Iowa as an Individual Placement with Project Get Outdoors in St.
Andy is a proud former River Watch student from Hawley, MN,
currently residing in Detroit Lakes, MN. In his spare time, Andy is likely to
be found in his kayak, ice fishing, or rooting for the Vikings.
