Canfield Bachman
Lake Water Quality Model

A tool to predict lake total phosphorus based on a model developed and tested using data on 704 natural and artificial lakes including 626 lakes in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) National Eutrophication Survey. The model yields unbiased estimates of phosphorus concentrations over a wide range of lake types and has a 95% confidence interval of 31-288% of the calculated total phosphorus concentration.

Mapping Portal

The IWI online mapping service was established in 2005 with funding from the ND Red River Joint Water Resource District and the MN Red River Watershed Management Board. The Map Portal provides public access to geospatial data available in the Red River of the North Basin including elevation contours (2’, 10’ and 50’), 1997 and 2009 Flood Extents, Weather Radar, Section, Range and Township, Drought Information, and Snow Depth and Water Equivalent. The IWI Map portal also features a number of “widgets” to help users create custom maps for printing, measure distances, determine spot elevations (1-meter grid), depict horizontal profiles or the landscape, and depict flood inundation areas (Fargo-Moorhead and Lisbon).
Recently the Watershed Delineation and Hydrology Report widget was added to the IWI Map Portal (link to the attached instructions) as part of the ND Prioritize, Target, and Measure Application (PTMApp). Users can interactively delineate and download watershed boundaries (shapefiles) and generate watershed hydrology reports.
